LMAO here. When you come down our road there is a sign that says "road ends ahead - 500 ft) Well, that's a lie. Apparently they forgot to take the sign down when they built this development. LOL We are a little more than half mile past the sign, so ...
Looks like they are telling you that the pavement ends, not necessarily the road.
He he he! That's a new one.....I don't think I've seen it in the driving manual.
I hope you were not with clients. It makes me feel so silly when I get turned around and take a wrong turn. Have a great week-end.
I've seen alot of signs but never that one. What was up ahead?
Kind of an end of paved road sign Leesa but you think there might be a barricade or just use words like Dirt Road Ahead. Never seen that sign before.
This a new one for me also. Sounds like you need a GPS unit.
carol - yes it was to indicate a gravel road. I just thought it was funny - i had never seen the sign before
mandi - nope - you won't find it in the manual - kinda funny, isn't it?
connie - nope, no clients. just out running around.
marie - gravel road. the main road veered sharply to the right. You would think that the sign would have indicated that.
gary - it was a new sign to me, too!
terry - have GPS - it indicates the road is there. HAHA
Leesa, I think that's the most interesting road sign I've seen. Gravel road huh? Interesting.
That is a wild - a gravel road - never saw anything like it before... WOW
Leesa - I have seen something similar, either in Canada or Australia. About the strangest I saw was a speed limit sign with nothing but the red circle with the line through it NO symbol. License to thrill!
That is total Twilight Zone! It is always nice to have your camera handy, eh?
Hi Leesa, I bet you did feel like you were somewhere else when you came upon that sign. I'm glad you didn't leave us and get lost in the Twilight Zone! Ha Ha
I am chronically lost. I think that when god passed out the directions gene that I was abscent. Love the sign - I've never come across one before.
Yeah I have to admit I have never seen that sign and I think driving past it around 35 miles per hour wouldn't give me a chance to decipher it like I'm able to staring at it on my pc LOL
Y'all over there in NC are just kinda weird. Can't ever say I saw one of them there signs here in TN but I have seen several in NC. We just don't want to confuse folks...
I have to give you DA Boot for this post...

It can be quite fun to try to decipher signs when driving down the road. On some of our freeways here we have a picture of a dad, mom, and daughter running. Dad and mom are on the ground, but the daughter is horizontal to the ground. It's meant to tell us that illegal immigrants might be running across the freeway, even though the freeway as 14 lanes wide and traffic is going somewhere between 75 and 100 mph.
thanks for the laugh this morning. Whatever you do ...Don't go beyond the pavement, it looks dangerous!
What on earth!?!?! Now, I know you went on down to find out what that means..right?? Please don't make me wonder, I will never get anything done now:)
What a cool sign...
I'm glad you lived to tell about it!!! ; )
Man, I thought you could see the end of the earth from Idaho........I guess it has 2 ends? ; )
april - it was a scary sign! I hadn't seen it before either - was I getting ready to go off a cliff or something?
kathy - it certainly had me thinking!
mike - LOVE the sign that you saw - I would have a field day on that road - I should have been a race driver!
cristal - YES! that's all i could think of - Twilight Zone!
I got lost the other day when I came across this one.....!!!
All I could think about was this from Jeff Foxworthy...."If the directions to your house includes the words..'after you leave the PAVED road'....you might be a redneck!"
Thanks for the laugh!
Hi Leesa, I was going to say the sign meant gravel road ahead but someone beat me to it.... so I did want to comment on your new heading, I like it!
Leesa,
I still have no idea what that sign means!?!?!? How is a girl supposed to sleep!??!?
Leesa,
I think that the sign means something like you have really done it now, there ain't no more road and you had better get a 4 wheeler.
Leesa - Hey! Maybe it means there's popcorn at the end of the road! Ralph
LOL @Leesa: You're such a city girl....some of us still have gravel in them thar hills....Oh-no, not me....LOL
Leesa, I'm sorry Gail called you a city girl. I just think the sign maker ran out of paint or direction...
ALL - I just can't reply to all of you - sorry, was a slacker for a day or two! BUT, the sign really tripped me out! I swear I hear the music in the background for the Twilight Zone! Rod Serling was there too!
