Well, this is it! This is Thanksgiving week and with all of the families and friends gathering the events in Wake Forest this week are minimal. Doesn't mean they are non-existent though!
Be sure to check out the Gobbler's Run on Thanksgiving Day! It sure beats laying around on the couch feeling overly stuffed! (No pun intended. Well, maybe a little!)
From the Town of Wake Forest website:
Firing Range Training

Police Department Firing Range, behind Flaherty Park Community Center
Residents in the area are advised that the Wake Forest Police Department will conduct firing range training on Wednesday, November 26 from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the police department firing range, located behind the Flaherty Park Community Center. The firing range is utilized by Wake Forest Police officers who require instruction and practice in order to obtain current certification in the use of firearms. Now that Gobbler's Run sounds like a fun thing to do to get out of the house but, shouldn't they call it Gobbler's Roll instead?
Pretty funny, Don! Yes, it does sound like a good idea though to get people out of the house and ACTIVE!
Leesa, a day at the firing range would be a help if you're planning to shoot a wild turkey! They actually have a lot of them in some parts of Northern Virginia.
Morning Lesa,
Are you going to partake in either of these events? Just getting outside in the fall weather is treat enough regardless of what your planned activities are.
The run sounds fun we all need some additional exercise during the holidays.
Hi Leesa! Great time to join in on the Gobblers' Run and get rid of some of that pre-holiday weight so that we can EAT, EAT, EAT! You'll have to snap some shots of these events and share with us later.
I hope they run before they eat Leesa. It might not be pretty otherwise, LOL!
Pat - I have seen a bunch of wild turkeys before - I forget the name of the bar........
Terry - I am surprised that Craig Barrett hasn't commented on this post - he is an avid runner - even if it were on Thanksgiving Day!
Debe = The run is a great change of pace from food and football! I have got a crazy Thanksgiving Day right now - now sure STILL where we will be or what we are doing.
Paddy -- Eewww......
Hal - Not going to the events but I am SURE we will get out and take a walk after dinner. Gorgeous here!nance
Leesa How do you stay so connected to what's happening in Wake Forest? It seems there's a lot going on down there...
Paul - Email Lists! Every business I go to I get ON THEM!!!
