Now, wait! Before anyone thinks this is odd let's think about it! You can't visit New Orleans without an
obligatory tour of the St. Louis Cemetery which houses the the infamous or famous (whichever way you fall on that issue) Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau. There is the revered Arlington National Cemetery which chronicles American history and allows visitors to pay respects to our countries heros.
Wake Forestis preparing the Inagural Cemetery Tour which will take place on November 8, 2008 from 10am - noon. The tour is designed to celebrate the lives of those that have contributed to the rich and diverse culture of Wake Forest. By learning more about our history we will be better equipped to navigate our future!
I have been through our cemeteries and I can tell you first hand that they are rooted in history and full of stories to be told. Volunteers are still being sought to share their stories of loved ones with gravesites located in the cemeteries. If you would like to contribute to the tour please get in touch with Nancy Bates at (919) 556-2111.

Interesting Leesa. You can learn a lot of local history at a cemetery. Let us know how it goes.
I have been to Arlington but that is about it. I have thought about visiting some of the older cemeteries in our area but just haven't gotten around to it. Let me know how it turns out.
leesa, we have a local expert on the cemetary walk and he is a contact of mine at Flickr. I love his knowledge. He is so willing to share and I think it is wonderful information.
Thanks for the welcome back and good to see you. How's business? Last time I checked you were rockin & rollin. I think you are amazing!
Very interesting post!
Who knew Wake Forest had an upcoming cemetery tour to check out?
Well......you did!
I'm scared!!!
Leesa
That is right up my ally; there is so much to learn and find about people from the past in a cemetery.
Sincerely
Tom Braatz

Craig - Too funny! Have you ever toured a cemetary? Very interesting and NOT scary at all!
Tom - I'll let you know how it goes!
I'm thinking if I'm going to tour a cemetary, I'm doing it with a professional......YOU!
Will it be at midnight, during a full moon like in the movies?!!!!
