Already one of the most in-demand bands in the Mid-Atlantic region, and having crowds at their public appearances filled with musicians from other bands, they've recently stepped up their game with the full-length release of "You Make Me Feel" - an album of songs featuring only songwriters with a significant connection to North Carolina.
"You Make Me Feel" is a genuinely compelling funk/rock/horn-band experience. Retro, while not blatantly so, the record often reminds us of what the current pop hit-factories most often fail to deliver - namely, great melodies, real vocalists, and an in-your-face horn section. While it's easy to point out the influences, (both subtle and overt), of Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Sly, James Brown, The Temptations, and the like, the originality of the horn arrangements help sidestep any presupposed comparisons to the most famous of horn bands - i.e. Earth, Wind & Fire, Tower of Power, or Chicago.
Bull City Syndicateis their own band, proudly named after the city of their birth, Durham, North Carolina. Because they've successfully broken ranks with the local pack of cliché cover bands, The Bull City must now share this band with the rest of the world.
You have the opportunity on APRIL 26th at 7pm to hear this exceptional band at the HerbFest in Wake Forest! This is certainly one of the many highlights of the HerbFest which starts TOMORROWand runs through the 27th. Don't miss this opportunity to get outside, hear a phenomenal band and enjoy historic downtown Wake Forest - I know that I will be there!
Amazing entertainment right here in My Back Yard....

Aloha Leesa,
They sound like a lot of fun. I love the Rebirth Jazz Band for their intense horns and rhythm. Next time I'm on the East coast I'll have to check them out.
Peace,
Kimo - This band is awesome! I am amazed at the events and concerts at this years HerbFest. If you are ever on this "side" let me know and I'll tell you where they are.
Eleanor - Come on! I am going!
For another sample of what they play you can also check out another link for them: Bull City Syndicate - This is their MySpace page and has a lot more to listen to!
