It has taken quite some time but we finally found THE puppy that we wanted to love. His name (so far) is Brodie! He has been home since 5pm and this house will never be the same! Tug was hesitant at first to meet him but after just a few short minutes, a few growls and the obligatory sniffs all is wonderful in this house!
Meet Brodie! This is how Tug handles him.....just throws a leg over him!
Liam decided to join in.......
And then there is sweet revenge......
Or to solve all problems Tug just lays on Brodie!
I have to say - we got Brodie from the Wake County Animal Shelter. It broke my heart that we couldn't scoop up more than just Brodie! So, please, if you are looking to add another member to your family of the four legged kind please visit your local Animal Shelter - there are AMAZING animals just waiting for their furever home!

Looks like it won't be long before Brodie and Tug see eye to eye. Great to hear that you gave a shelter animal a second chance!
Leesa - Brodie is soooooooooo cute and it looks like Tug has already put him in his place.
That is AWESOME! Tug lookes like he has adopted to the big brother role well. I'm sure there will be many many many pictures to come from this new addition. Congrats to you and the family! Give the furry kids a pat for me!
Good for you, Leesa. And Tug and Brodie already look like fast friends. I can't go into a shelter because I want to bring all the dogs home. It is heartbreaking. I am glad Brodie found his "forever home."
Leesa, you're just too funny with that "furever home". Tug & Brodie look like buddies for life all ready!
They are so cute together. I know it won't be long until Tug has it totally under control.
Leesa, good job on the rescue, we have a shelter here in Clayton where they keep everyone until they find a home. I found a big old lab that they found a home for.
Hi Leesa ~ I can't believe Tug is such a wonderful big brother! He's so adaptable - a peach! I know exactly what you mean about wanting to adopt more - it would be all too easy to become an animal hoarder - they're just so irresistible.

What adorable dogs you there! Too cute the way that they cuddle.
Leesa, I see LOVE with Brodie....what a sweet addtion to your family. I'm afraid to go near the animal shelter, I can't seem to leave without another pet :)
How cute is that!!! We have a Golden, he is the most incredible dog! There are times I want to add another addition to our family...but your pictures will have to do! :0)
Thanks!
Cheron
That is so great that those anilmals are so good in each others company, now if we can get all humans to do the same!
Puppies are so great I wish they would stay that size and have that much energy for ever. Have fun he looks like lots of energy.
John - We were thinking several different ways of getting a new puppy and the Animal Shelter just made the most sense!
Michelle - It didn't take long at ALL for Tug to let him know he was here first! He is adorable, isn't he and OMG what a ball of energy!
I know that you are a HUGE DOG FAN, Carol, so thanks for the well wishes! I think everyone is going to do great together!
Jane - we made several visits to the shelter and the SPCA - if only I had the room and the money they would have all been mine!
Kevin - thanks for catching my play on words! I am shocked at how well they adjusted to each other so fast! It's so fun in this house this morning!
Hi Leesa,
What a nice addition to your family! Brodie is such a cute pup! Looks like Brodie and Tug will be good friends! Congratulations!
Rita
Great job rescuing Brodie from the animal shelter Leesa!
Somehow I think pets know when they've been adopted and show their gratitude everyday.
Enjoy your new family member!
What a nice addition to the family and bless you for rescuing him. He ought to liven up things around your house for awhile and maybe forever.
Precious babies! Brodie surely is one lucky pup! And so are you and your family cause he looks great.
Congratulations on the addition to your family! My neighbor has a new Brodie but she's called Maggie. Sally their 5yr old lab seems to be surviving LOL.
Leesa,
Those are some nice shots... I remember as a kid the excitement of a new puppy.
Looks like they became real good friends real quick and that is awesome. I'm glad you saved Brodie from the shelter, looks like a good little puppy.

Brodie looks like he has such a happy new family now! I bet he will be forever grateful for being rescued at the animal shelter!
Leesa, Looks like you all lucked out when you brought Brodie home. Glad he found his forever home. Your photos are great! Best of luck to you! Please keep us updated.
Ahh I love dogs, Brodie and Tug are so good in each others company. Very Cute!
CUUUUUTE! He's beautiful! Congratulations Leesa!
Leesa - How's your new born baby puppy doing? I hope you've been getting some sleep.
It looks like Brodie is the perfect match for the family and Tug will be teaching him the ropes.
Oh how precious is that. Looks like they love each other already. Congrats to you and your family. I glad you didn't go out and buy some expensive animal, instead you have a heart!!! I knew that already though :O)
Thanks everyone for all of your comments! Brodie has fit in nicely and Tug only had to let him know one time who was here first - that was all it took and now they are great friends. We got lucky - he's a great pup!
Haha ! This is great ! When all else fails, just lay on top of the more energetic playmate !!!!
Congrats on the new addition Leesa !!!
I thought so too, Sheldon - that's one way to keep your opponent down - LAY ON THEM!
