Wow, what a crazy weather week in Wake Forest NC! While we had incredibly beautiful snow last week it became quite a hassle the rest of the week. Kids didn't have school Monday - Wednesday and now they will have to make up several of the days on Saturdays! My neighborhood was FULL of kids sledding and having snowball fights and there were a few injuries - my son included. My son, Liam, decided to find the steepest driveway and go rogue.......he hit a bump and ended up in the trees. After 4 visits with an Ophthalmologist we think he will continue to get his sight back little by little with minimal long-term damage - it has been very scary but not enough to keep him from basketball! He played in his game last night and at one point when the coach was getting him in the game where Liam had to look to the left Liam said, "Hey, that's my bad eye!" to which the coach just responded "Well, use your GOOD eye!" Way too funny!
Many of the local restaurants and business had abbreviated hours this past week as well due to the weather but as the week is coming to a close things seem to be getting back to normal. So, with that said, here is a peek at the upcoming week's schedule! It's going to be a fantastic week with so much going on! Don't forget the Valentine's Day Dance, Margaritas and Mambo, Art After Hours, and so much more.....
I'll see you out and about this week in Wake Forest NC and remember, it's just doesn't get any better than Life in Wake Forest NC!

That margarita looks yummy!
Nevin - are you believing the calendar for the week? Crazy fun!
Leesa, We have had crazy weather here as well! You still have a wonderful line up of fun things to do in Lake Forest....I always love the "artsy" things.
Leesa,
I can so relate with Liam right now, I have had a detached retna since December 4th and will be having my 3rd surgery come Wednesday. Oh well life still goes on.
I hope that the snow hasn't gotten any worse for you. I think I am ready to go out for some margaritas, mambo.
Margaritas and Mambo - Salsa Dance Lessons in the snow should be a wonderful combination.
Carole - It is a pretty packed line up this week and seems to get more full every week! Art After Hours here is HUGE!
Don - I had read about your surgeries and I felt so bad. How many more will you have to have? Liam was really scared for a day or two after he realized the severity - I won't even tell you how scared Jon and I were. But, after the last visit on Friday it would seem that he will continue to get better. After the month checkup if the scarring is severe we can talk laser surgery if necessary. YOU get better and if you need to let your pup continue to blog for you! She gives us secrets!
Terry - isn't that a great combo? Might be cold outside but you definitely get warmed up inside with the lessons!
Leesa,
You always have the best posts about local events! Makes me want to move to Wake Forest!
Thanks, Judi - that is very kind of you! Pack your bags and come on - we've got plenty of room!
Leesa - I hope Liam gets better soon. Bummer for Wake Forest NC kids...Saturday make up days? Wow, I've never heard of that before.
Michelle - he's getting better already! Next appointment a few weeks out and he is getting better everyday. Yes, it is a bummer about the Saturdays but they really don't have any other chance. Just not used to snow so they don't "build" those days into the schedule.
