CTE Month at Heritage Middle School
Wow, talk about an area coming to a standstill! I know that in Wake Forest NC we have waited all season to see a few snow flakes and we got our wish over this past weekend! Over 6 inches of snow fell in Wake Forest NC! That may not be much to others in different parts of the country but it was a huge event here! I have to laugh when I think of a Status Update a friend of mine put on Facebook: "For those of you that don't live in the Raleigh NC area: We are having a "Winter Storm EVENT"-- very fancy way of saying, "It's SNOWING"
Roads are still a little edgy this morning but little by little we will get it all cleared and be back to normal - just takes us a little longer than the rest of the country when we get snow.
Regardless, events in Wake Forest NC are pushing on this week and there is SO MUCH to choose from! Check it out......

Hi Leesa-Snow in the south is definitely an event. Living in the north for all but the last almost 4 yrs. Va got about 9" yesterday and the parking lot here has only a swipe thru it and the sidewalks aren't touched and I don't own a snow shovel cause maintenance is supposed to take care of it. Must be they either don't work on weekends or they are snowed in too. Have a great Sunday. <SMILE> Love the list of activities for your area. I found a meeting in my area from your list. Thank you for the info. <SMILE>
Wow Leesa that is a lot of snow for those parts of the US! Are you going to make a snowman?
VB ;o)
Leesa
I heard you were going to get some snow and you certainly did. How close are you to South port or Wilmington?
Leesa,
After you shovel the drive and sidewalk then head ove to have some margaritas and a little bit of dancing.
BTW, the first time I ever saw snow was in Goldsboro WAAAAAAAY back in the day.
Just enjoy the snow and the memories it creates.
Some of are snow is melting but we had a lot more than 6 inches. I imagine it's quite the novelty for all of you. Enjoy!
Hi Leesa ~ Hope it melts soon! I know it's not the norm for you folks in North Carolina. What a funny winter.
Liz
Hi Leesa, at least you got snow! All we got here on Long Island was below freezing temperatures with a side a wind! :)
Wow - school has been cancelled for the last two days! Just not warming up enough to make travelling safe on the roads for the buses. Um, STIR CRAZY!
Leesa ~ I was caught in it last Friday. One minute it was raining and BAM the roads where all snow. I barely made it up the mountain to my house. I had to be coached up by my husband on the cell phone. Trucks were even on the side of the hill with flashers on that didn't make it but half way up. I was shaking so bad I wanted to cry. I told him I would walk the rest of the way and he wouldn't have it. I did it with out 4 wheel drive! Stayed home for 3 days with NO internet so I couldn't even work on here. Yesterday I raced to the house...lol everyone laughing at me but I don't care, I never want to have to drive that hill again in the snow.
June - wow, sounds like quite an adventure and one that I would most certainly not want to do!!!!!
