Quick Tip To Share - Non-Abrasive Cleaner and IT'S GREEN!

First of all, thanks to all of my readers that have been sending in tips for household cleaning, etc - it is wonderful!  I may have to compile all of them into a blog post of their own!  In the meantime - here is yet another quick, green tip that was sent to me by a resident here in Wake Forest NC:

Baking Soda

Baking Soda is wonderful for many uses!  You can sprinkle some on a wet sponge and use it to wipe down countertops, fiberglass showers, sinks, and ovens.  It is completely non-abrasive and won't scratch surfaces!  Pam uses it, of course, in the refrigerator to remove nasty food smells but also mentions that it is good to sprinke on carpets as a deodorizer.  She adds about 1/2 c. to each laundry load as her husband is a landscaper and comes home rather "stinky" and she says it works like a charm getting lawn chemical smells out of his clothes.

Kind of cool and a great tip!!!  Again, seriously, thanks to all of my faithful readers in the area and keep the tips coming!

Thanks for the tip. I use either baking soda or white vinegar for about 2/3 of my household cleaning - green and cheap. For laundry, adding a little borax and letting clothes presoak also works wonders.

Raine - Wow, love the tip with the vinegar!  May I use that in the future of course with credit to you?
