The Finley's discovered a great little hidden pond yesterday afternoon. I am almost embarrassed to say it is only 1/4 mile from our home. We took Tug for a walk yesterday and met quite a few new friends while there! Liam met some new friends and joined in fishing, Tug enjoyed the lake and Jon and I enjoyed the scenery!
Forgotten Pond is located within Heritage in Wake Forest NC. They have several pavillions with benches making afternoon picnics wonderful! Benches line the pond, there is a turtle observation deck and a wonderful pier for fishing! Check out our afternoon - it was peaceful, fun and definately worth a return trip!

That's pretty neat that Liam has some new fishing buddies. Don't feel bad; I have ponds by me that were a stone throw away and i never knew it.
What a totally fun day of fishing - and so close to home! Looks like Liam was trying to hide from the camera. :-)
Hi Leesa, Sounds like you had a lot of fun, glad you were able to enjoy the day. I would love the fishing..one of my favorites. And I love the water.
Tom - I did feel a little silly for not knowing it was there - it is SO peaceful!
Laraine - Not my punk! I just tried to get more scenery than him!
Gary - It was really relaxing! The adults, kid and dog were all happy! A win-win!
It looks like the Finley family had a great afternoon. BTW, is Liam camera shy?
Don - That's so weird - Caarol above you kinda thought the same thing! No he isn't at all! In fact he is a ham in front of the camera.
Leesa, that looks like a great spot to relax and forget the rest of the world. I loved the turtle. :)
I hope you keep discovering great places.... nearby or otherwise. :)
Neat video Leesa - we have a pond and marshland one block from my house and I just love it.... Glad you found yours...
Sylvie - It is a GREAT spot and you can't even imagine the number of turtles!
Kathy - they are fun to explore, aren't they?
