Meet in the Street

For 30 years, the Wake Forest community has gathered to enjoy one of the largest family-friendly festivals in the region. A crowd of more than 10,000 is expected to descend upon the historic business district of Downtown Wake Forest for the 30th Annual Meet In The Street® on Saturday, May 1. The event is held from 10 am - 4 pm and is free and open to the public. While there, visitors will have the chance to acquire some wonderful hand-made arts and crafts. More than 80 vendors from all over the Southeast proudly show off their handiwork at Meet In The Street®.  You can find beautiful paintings, jewelry and home décor, as well as many unique handcrafted items that make this annual event a celebration of local art and artisans. Be sure to stop by the Children’s Village. There you will find games and activities. Come with an appetite, as the Food Village will be stocked with all of your festival favorites. The entire family will be entertained by local dancers, singers and musicians on two performance stages. As always, you can meet up with some of the Triangle’s favorite mascots. The annual festival is organized by the Wake Forest Area Chamber of Commerce and made possible by the volunteer efforts of Chamber members. Relay for Life Luminary Sale

Meet in the Street Festival, Downtown Wake Forest
The Wake Forest Woman’s Club will be selling luminaries at Meet in the Street. Luminaries are lights placed around the track at Relay for Life on May 15. Purchase a luminary in honor of someone battling cancer or in memory of someone who died with cancer. Lights are placed in white bags which bear the name of the person being honored or memorialized. A very somber, inspiring walk in the dark with lights glowing around the track takes place at 9 pm on May 15. If you live inside Wake Forest's corporate limits and you're willing to convert your lawn from Fescue to Bermuda grass then you're eligible to participate. Simply visit the Operations Center on April 24 between 8 am and noon. After providing your address and the size of your lot, you'll receive enough grass seed to cover up to 8,000 square-feet of lawn. American Cancer Society’s Bark for Life – A Canine Event to Fight Cancer

The Myrtle Magnum Family and Friends Relay For Life Team is hosting the first Bark For Life event to be held in the Wake Forest/Rolesville area on Saturday, April 24 from 9 am until 1 pm. This event will be at Heritage Trade Drive in Wake Forest. Advance registrations will be $20 per person with one dog and up to two additional dogs at $5 each. Teams and individuals can register in advance at the North Raleigh/Wake Forest Relay For Life website at www.wakeforestrelay.com. Print out and mail in a completed registration form before April 10 to North Wake County Bark for Life, c/o sandi.barham@att.net, 3579 NC 98 Hwy. West, Youngsville, NC 27596.
